About this work

Silk cape composed of eight fragments. Design: symmetrically constructed, stacked pattern consisting of pomegranate-like shapes from which mirrored floral scrolls rise, forming a diamond shape with strongly curled leaves enclosing a flower on a stem, the outlining in silver thread, the brocading in two shades of pink, green and blue on a cream-colored ground with a design of leaf scrolls in liseré. Lining of orange silk. Label with: French and Co. inc. 6378, Price #525. Pinned paper note with the letters AI. Condition: fair.
