About this work

Fragment of four sewn-together pieces of silk fabrics. This is a figured silk damask with a design of horizontal rows of large-scale flowers with rising branches bearing flowers and leaves, placed on a tablecloth edged with a pointed border in brown on a cream-colored ground. Imitation of French fabrics from ca. 1730.
