Table clock or console clock, veneered with marquetry of copper and tin on a tortoiseshell ground

Table clock or console clock of oak, veneered with marquetry of copper and tin on a tortoiseshell ground on red felt, with gilded bronze mounts. The case has a vaulted bottom and curved sides. It tapers upwards and is crowned by a removable hood. The case has a straight window door on the front with a broken arched top edge, surrounded by a tortoiseshell profiled border, within which a cast copper border with balusters and swags. The engraved dial of white-colored metal is surrounded by four cast corner pieces with female figures. In the lunette is a round plate of white-colored metal, engraved with the sun, flanked by cast swan pieces with dolphins. The dial is attached to a copper plate with an engraved border, with the signature IP KROESE AMSTERDAM in the center below. Below the dial is a wooden plate covered with black fabric, on which in the center hangs an oval, gilded copper, ribbed medallion with Apollo (?) with bow and quiver, hanging from laurel swags.
