About this work
A vertical ivory plate with the Crucifixion of Christ under three Gothic arches, above which is a crenellated wall. On either side of the cross are Mary and an unknown woman (left) and John and an old, crowned bearded man (right). The reverse is blank, with a narrow raised edge on three sides (the top edge is sawn off).
