About this work

Blanket for crib or child's bed, of silk in satin weave, quilted, stitched and embroidered with arabesques and a floral border in red and green silk. Model: rectangular. Filling of two, woven wool layers. Lining of plain silk in plain weave. Blind hem. Decoration: central field with two times a mirrored pattern of linear curls. The embroidery at the top is worked through the top layer of the wool filling. The lining of silk in plain weave is stitched with the lower wool middle layer in a typically Dutch pattern of 'shells'.
