About this work

Vase-shaped gold seal with an agate seal stone. The seal is engraved with the coat of arms of Ploos van Amstel (quarterly per fess eight pieces of black and gold and a saltire checky of silver and red over all), supported by griffins and crowned by a crowned helm with a stag issuing. The seal has a ribbed border and is decorated with leafy tendrils.
