Wine Jug

Wine jug belonging to a four-part communion service. The jug stands on a flat footplate and is composed of two stacked cylinders of different size, each decorated at the top with a flat rim. The proportions reflect the other parts of the service; the diameter of the lower cylinder is equal to that of the offering box, the diameter of the upper one to that of the cup. On one side a triangular spout is attached, on the opposite side a straight wooden handle, the attachments of which are set in silver cuffs, and the end of which is decorated with a silver, folded strip. By means of a hinge the jug is connected to the flat lid, raised in the middle, which is crowned by a ribbed wooden knob. The underside of all standing parts is decorated with three folded ribs.
