About this work

The frame consists of 16 cut-out legs, attached to the front of the leaf and held together by a metal locking pin. The silk fan leaf in satin binding is edged with a narrow ribbon. The plain silk leaf is decorated between the legs with meandering lines of embroidered metal thread, with gold-colored leaves placed on either side. The gold-painted wooden legs have a round shoulder, are openwork, and feature quatrefoils and scrolls. Leaves are scattered on the back leaf. The locking pin is decorated with a mother-of-pearl ring.
