About this work
Four-part short traverso ('third flute' with lowest tone f') in boxwood with ivory rings and 1 brass key, preserved in excellent and original condition. The headjoint, which is somewhat warped, is stamped with the addition of the number 2, the upper joint with the number 3. There may originally have been several interchangeable parts. With the current parts, the tuning lies between a-415 and 440 Hz. Stamps: [crown] / GRENSER / DRESDEN / 2 (headjoint); [crown] / H.GRENSER / 3 (upper joint); [crown] / H.GRENSER (lower joint); [crown] / DRESDEN (foot).
