About this work

Triptych with Mary, flanked by John the Baptist (left), the apostle Bartholomew (right), and on the side panels St. Anthony Abbot (left) and St. Catherine (right); the reverse of the panels painted with a monk's head (Carthusian) in cowl and halo; the top crowned with fleurons and two small, standing prophets with scrolls. The whole is decorated with geometric patterns in intarsia ('alla certosina'). Remains of original gold paint accents are present on the depictions.
