About this work
Corpus of the crucified Christ with the head hanging downwards. The body has schematically indicated musculature and chest. The arms and hands are outstretched and open. The sinewy legs with the feet placed over each other. On the head is a 'crown of thorns' made of a ring wound into a turban without thorns. As a halo, a copper plate is attached to the top of the head. Christ wears a loincloth tied on the right hip and consisting of fine parallel folds at the front.
