About this work

Stadholder's chair with footstool. Walnut, gilded, upholstered with velvet trimmed with silver and gold braid. Probably The Hague, 1768 (?). The chair, one of a pair, was probably used during the visit of Stadholder Prince William V and his consort, Princess Wilhelmina, to Amsterdam in 1768. On loan from the City of Amsterdam.
