Photo album with hard cover covered with red linen with on the front in elegant letters printed in relief in silver: Souvenir de Voyage. On the faded spine the part number 2. Part of a group of five similarly named albums numbered 1-5. The album contains 24 sheets of cardboard with 136 photos pasted on both sides and on the endpapers of the album. Some photos are numbered and have a handwritten caption. For many shots the pasted prints are present in duplicate, in black-and-white and in blue (cyanotype) on the opposite page. Life of the Doijer family (Hendrik Doijer and Henriette Maria Catharina Kranenburg) in and around the plantation Ma Retraite in Suriname in the years 1903-1910.
