About this work
Triangular piece of natural-coloured needle lace: reticella. The piece, possibly intended as a collar, has in the centre a square built up from four small squares. In the large square stand two different concentric circles around a worked dot. The festooned inner circle is set with picots. Along the outer circle stand eight triangles which together form four lozenges. The motif with the worked dot repeats itself in the three points of the triangle in different ways. The edges of the triangle are finished with festooned arches with picots among others.
