About this work

Cap slip of natural-coloured Brussels bobbin lace. A rivière in zigzag line is crossed by spiral vines, enclosing fan-shaped medallions. The motifs are connected to each other by a drochel ground. In the rivières a coarser hexagonal ground is applied. On the fields bounded by the rivière stand branches, on which flowers in the shape of pomegranates, pears or of winged insects.
