About this work

Strip of natural-colored needle lace: Venetian rose lace. On a needlepoint ground with hexagonal meshes stand richly branched vines, turning left and right, sometimes turned, sometimes running. Growing on these are various, carefully detailed bud-shaped flowers. Here and there the top of a vine has grown through an opening in the branch. Straight finish of alternately an eye and a triangle.
