About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Mechelen lace. On a trellis ground dotted with snowflakes (a Mechelen ground or ice ground) stands a symmetrical pattern of a hanging flower branch, which cuts through both a garland hanging in the air and an open profile frame; the frame follows the garland, yet is drawn angularly. The shells are alternately of a grape leaf and three daisies.
