About this work

Silver prize pen in the form of a goose quill with the applied gilded silver coat of arms of Amsterdam, dated 1758. In that year, as a prize for a good result on the Latin school in Amsterdam, two pupils received the pen, namely Gerardus de Graaff and Joan Wern. van den Velden. This example, on which the number 4 is engraved, referring to the class in which the winner was, must have been presented to one of them.
