About this work
Tobacco rasp with back and box of ivory. On the back, in relief, a gentleman is depicted playing a viola da gamba; above him, horns of plenty, below, a basket of flowers. On the lid of the box, a bowl of fruit. The rasp is decorated on the underside with a shell shape.
