About this work
Shawl of linen batiste, triangular, embroidered with cotton flower scrolls and open hems of drawn thread work and cotton. Model: finished all around with a small rolled hem. Decoration: in the point a flower built up from stem stitches with a heart of needle lace within a double square of open hems of drawn thread work openings alternated with linen batiste wrapped in cotton threads. To the left and right, the open hems form elongated areas in which cotton flower scrolls are analogous to the flower in the square.
