About this work
Stoneware jug on a foot with a globular body and a narrow, short neck. Part of the neck is missing. The twisted, C-shaped handle is attached to the neck and shoulder. A broad band with incised lines runs from the neck to halfway down the shoulder. Covered with a brown engobe and cobalt blue. On the belly, three times a printed and applied relief medallion. The central medallion, flanked by lions, shows a coat of arms and the date '1603'. On either side, a medallion with the imperial coat of arms, the inscription 'R.R./K.K' and the date '1599'. Frechen.
