Seventeenth panel of a lattice with Prince Maurice in a praying posture

Large window from the monastery of St Agatha near Cuyk. Prince Maurice in gilded armor, with ermine mantle and pleated collar, bareheaded, in a praying posture, kneeling on a prayer stool before a lectern with a book. The lectern stands on a table covered with a dark blue cloth with gold fringe. Helmet and gloves lie on the floor in front of the table. The prince is situated in a dome supported by four free-standing Corinthian columns; above his head a baldachin from which a laurel wreath hangs. The dome is crowned by the coat of arms of Maurice and the motto of the Order of the Garter: 'Honi soit qui mal y pense' (Shame on him who thinks evil of it). Coat of arms supported by two running youths. The coat of arms leans against the upper part of the dome. Below this scene are architectural fragments that have been incongruously placed. To the right lies a young woman kneeling with raised hands. She wears a yellow silk mantle lined with ermine. The face was added in oil paint in 1891.
