Angel on a Pedestal
From the collection of Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. Free to download, adapt and use — no permission needed.
About this work
The object consists of three cast and chased parts: the base, the angel, and the pin with which it is attached. The profiled base has a foot and two scroll elements on either side. The downward-looking putto, who has a drape over his right shoulder, presumably points to a coat of arms, of which only the back, on which it was mounted, remains. The angel is screwed to a wooden pipe with a nut.
