About this work

One of four silver wall sconces, consisting of a pointed oval wall plate on which chased is an oval medallion with four different busts, representing spring (woman with flower wreath in her hair), summer (woman with wreath of ears of corn), autumn (boy with grape wreath) and winter (old man with fur collar and hat); medallion surrounded by broad border of flower and leaf scrolls. Candleholders in the form of an arm extending forward, which clutches a holder with a round fat catcher, decorated with leaves. Note: See BK-NM-1010-101-B to D.
