About this work

Spinning wheel, made of maple and ebony; bobbin and spindle, treadle, stand, wheel, and table made of maple; all turned legs, stiles, wheel spokes, and distaff made of ebony. Very detailed miniature with hooks on the chair wing, a bobbin with linen thread, and a ball of flax fibers on the distaff. The treadle hinges with pieces of pink leather; it can set the wheel in motion.
