About this work

Knob chair made of hard wood with smooth turned stiles and cross-rails; front legs and back stiles ending in finely turned knobs; back sloping backwards with four flat cross-spindles; seat of woven rush, twisted on top, straight underneath; on the seat a loose trapezoidal cushion with hanging smooth flap, cut into shells on the two sides and at the front; made of light green silk edged and decorated with loops with white ribbon and cord; cushion filled with down; tied at the back with a ribbon around the stiles.
