About this work

Round, gilded bronze plaque. In the center, in the foreground, Paul falls from his horse. Behind him a soldier turns around and shields his face with a shield. To the right, a soldier, upper body turned to the right, holding a shield up behind him. To the left, some soldiers looking back in flight. Further, two figures disappearing in a rolling landscape; mountain landscape, buildings, and trees in the distance. At the top, the radiant celestial body with clouds.
