About this work
Glass cabinet, so-called bonheur du jour. The cabinet has mirror panes on three sides in flat frames that, like the scalloped hood, display a continuous vine ornament of leaf and flower work. The base has a drawer, supports, four slender baluster legs and a "double fork-cross". The window, the cross and the supports are decorated like the stiles and rails of the cabinet. The plates and the back panel were later lined with purple velvet.
