About this work

A forged iron balance. The arms of the balance taper towards the ends from rectangular to octagonal cross-section and end in an openwork knob; the beam is rose-shaped openwork at the beginning and has three openwork knobs. The case, with two eyes connected to the knife, consists of two octagonal bars that pass into rings, upon which rests an oval table with an opening for the hook. An elegantly forged pendant, attached to the case, accentuates the center of the balance.
