About this work
Round plate of lead-glazed earthenware. On the flat is a representation of the Flight into Egypt. On a donkey walking to the left sits Mary with the Child on her lap. In front of the donkey walks Joseph with the reins in his left hand and a staff over his right shoulder. Below the image the inscription 'Jesus maria Josep...'. Running along the image is a leafy vine with large leaves and below the image the inscription 'gerrit bonnen...Jaer 1728 den 13 augustus'.
