About this work

Very finely woven tabula with brown figures, mounted on unrelated natural-colored linen. In a square, Dionysos stands between two satyrs with musical instruments. At his feet lie three maenads. The natural-colored background is filled with a very finely woven vine motif. Surrounding this is a band with circular motifs containing running animals, including lions, panthers, and hares. The detailing of the motifs is in flying thread technique.
