About this work
Linen weaving fragment with two sewn-on multicolored (blue, red, light blue, pink, green, yellow, light green, and ochre) clavi on a dark blue or red ground, depicting leaping horses with riders alternating left and right. These have a lance in hand and a halo around the head. The clavi are edged with natural-colored borders with a red vine motif with leaves on one side and a narrow border with alternating blue, yellow, and red motifs.
