Fragment of samite with star patterns and Kufic script

Fragment of a silk textile with black warp threads and white, black, red, and yellow weft threads forming a border ornament consisting of adjacent black-and-white outlined hexadecagons on a red ground, containing an ornament of star-shaped crossing Kufic lettering and a yellow star as a central decoration. Along the sides of the hexadecagons are small white fields with black lettering. A white and black border ornament encloses the red fields.
