About this work

Rectangular lead plaque with beveled edges. An old man, his head crowned with grapevines, sits next to a vat of grapes. He holds both hands with spread fingers behind his ears. A slip, to which a jester's bell is attached, flutters up behind his head. In the landscape, a city; mountains in the background.
