About this work
Motif of natural-colored and colored bobbin lace: war lace. The motif depicts the climbing lion of Flanders holding a flagpole with the Belgian flag in vertical bands of black, yellow and red (brown-red). The lion stands on a bobbin-worked 'pedestal', a yellow strip with black border and the dating in red (brown) 1914-15.
