About this work

Mahogany veneer on oak sofa, upholstered and painted "à l'étrusque", resting on eight square, tapering legs with cannelures. The seat rails are painted on a black ground in reddish-brown and white with palmettes, alternating with sunburst wreaths. Between the central palmettes, a female head with braids. The extended S-shaped armrests placed at both ends are painted in the same colors with cornucopias from which ears of corn and floral scrolls sprout.
