About this work
The foot has no flat rim, like the monstrances discussed here. The upper part consists of a case with glass on the front and back. The front is attached to a hinge and can be opened. The glass on the front is set in a mount consisting of a finely ribbed rim and a rim of acanthus leaves. The case is surrounded by seven scroll-like protrusions in which six-petaled roses are set, with a silvered leaf wreath and a gilded heart ball. In the case is placed on a stand a silver filigree pendant with a crown at the top and in the middle an oval glass pane. This part was added in the second half of the 17th century.
