About this work

Hunting horn made from a cow's horn; on one side a pack hunt on a wild boar in a forest with two farmhouses in the background; on the other side, centrally, an enclosure containing a lion; on the door of the enclosure is engraved: 1587; to the left of the center is the text: Let everyone mock fools... ...themselves moeien. Below, from left to right, a heart-catcher or sabre, a helmet (?), a shield with a spear, on the shield is a face depicted. To the right is the text: Money that is silent... ...not found. Below, from left to right, a ... and the year 1587. On the copper mouthpiece is attached a copper ring, as well as on the end of the horn.
