About this work

Fragment of a silk fabric, consisting of a blue warp with a matching weft for the ground and a blue warp with alternating pale yellow, purple and brown weft for the pattern (twill), shot with yellow silk and gold thread. The pattern consists of winding, volute-shaped twigs, with small flower clusters and large flowers.
