About this work
The object consists of the following cast parts: the handle, the stem, and the oil reservoir. The handle has a cloverleaf-shaped eye at the top. The profiled stem, tapering downwards, is cup-shaped at the top, followed by a foot ring with four holes and four notches (for attaching the arms and decorative elements), and is then profiled in three bulbous sections. The eight-pointed star-shaped oil reservoir, which has a stamped ornament around the eye at the bottom, is attached to the stem with a bayonet fitting. The holes and notches are unnumbered, or numbered with 1 to 3 points.
