About this work
The Virgin Mary, three-quarter length to the right with head in profile, stands behind a balustrade with a cloth hanging before it. She holds the reclining naked child in both hands. She wears a diadem and a veil over her head and chin, a girded robe, and a mantle held together at the breast. The Virgin has a halo.
