About this work
The object consists of two halves usable as cups, which when pushed together form a barrel shape. The staves are indicated by engraved vertical lines in the granulated surface. The inside, the rim, and the ribbed reinforcing bands of each half are gilded. On the rim of each cup is a rectangular shaded area. On the underside they are provided with the inscriptions: Zùm Kùpfer wie // ein Waaß Verkhe // ret Kùgel rùndt. AE: en Mich fißen // machte naß, das // Wasser Herrngrundt, W:.
