About this work

Pouch of green velvet, consisting of four pattes on each of which a crowned heart pierced by two arrows and respectively the initials DA and MS surrounded by vines, embroidered with silk, gilded silver thread and freshwater pearls. The embroidery is a symmetrically built floral ornament in which violets, clover and tulip-like flowers are embroidered in a pointillé style. The whole is in relief and with cannetille. The purse is drawn closed by means of two cords of braided gold thread with acorns at the ends. Openings at equal distances at the top in the fabric of the purse. On two seams, diagonally opposite, extra cords: decoration(?). Under the purse a flat disc to which eyes with beads with a pearl and a green silk tassel are attached. Lining of, pinked, red silk.
