About this work

The thread holder consists of a handle with two eyelets at the bottom, in which a pen fits that ends in two leaf-shaped asymmetric wings, one of which is screw-off. At the top of the handle a rotatable connecting piece is attached with an eyelet, in which the eye of a large link fits. The hook is again attached to this link with a large eye. The hook widens towards the rounded end and has an applied ornament on the front. The handle, the link and the ornament on the hook, all pierced and asymmetric, are composed of C-volutes decorated with leaves, foam and rocaille borders and flowers including roses. The open connecting piece between handle and link consists of two scalloped volutes connected by a profiled beam. The hook is engraved above the ornament with C-volutes with leaves and grilles.
