The egg-shaped bowl is connected by a long needle to the initially straight, faceted on the upper side and then flat handle, which widens towards the rounded, curling end, which shows a slight ridge on the upper side over the middle. On the underside of the bowl is engraved around in two lines: In memory: of the Commission, by their High Mightinesses given in 1705. for f 350,000:- to be distributed to the interested parties in the damage at Vigo suffered in 1702. and paid in 1712.
