About this work
Capture of a bastion of Maastricht by the French armies on 30 June 1673. The print is part of a French series of 28 prints depicting the conquests of the French King Louis XIV between 1672 and 1678, titled: Grandes Conquêtes du Roi. In an ornamental frame with at the top a plan of the fortifications of the city, further coats of arms, parts of armour and bound prisoners. At the bottom a cartouche with an inscription of 11 lines in French.
