About this work

Chalice veil with embroidery. In the center a radiant halo within which the letters MAR are embroidered, below which a heart pierced by a sword. Scrollwork runs from the corners and the midpoints of the sides. Flowers spring from the scrollwork in the corners. The veil is edged all around with bobbin lace: gold lace.
