About this work

Spice jar of faience, painted in blue in the glaze with a chinoiserie decoration. The cylindrical jar, with two C-shaped handles, rests on three feet. Along the lower and upper edge of the body a continuous row of smooth, round knobs. The vaulted lid is crowned by an acorn-shaped knob, supported by three S-shaped volutes. Along the edge of the lid and on the upper side of the lid also a continuous row of smooth, round knobs.
