About this work

Jewellery casket, covered in leather with gilded and polychrome stamped decorations: on the front, a stag and boar hunt; on the back, a peasant hunt; on the sides, respectively Paris and Venus, and Juno and Minerva, in niches. Hinges and lock of ornately engraved gilded copper. The right side panel can be slid open to reveal the fronts of two drawers, still well preserved in color. Two handles on the sides (one false). The box is marked on the back with a column. Note: the polychrome work is heavily damaged on the outside and has completely disappeared in places.
