About this work

Porcelain plate, painted on the glaze in sepia and gold. On the flat surface a medallion with a scene, below which the inscription reads 'THE BREELE CAPTURED BY THE WATERS, 1572'. A band with a leaf vine around the medallion. Gilded rim. Marked on the underside with 103-N and 13.
